Cheers Global, a purpose-driven initiative improving the lives of people facing challenges, is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2026 with CHEERS GLOBAL @ 10, a campaign to touch 10,000 lives within six months across its programmes.
Since its founding, Cheers Global has touched more than 6,500 hearts, supported over 3,000 children and reached more than 10 communities. Through service, charity and empowerment, it supports people from childhood to adulthood. The 10-year milestone is both a celebration of that journey and a call to do more.
A decade of touching lives
Cheers Global’s work runs through a set of initiatives, each meeting a specific need:
- Back to School provides educational materials across vocational and academic pathways.
- Tech Teens gives teenagers STEM training and tools.
- Happy Feet gives underprivileged children shoes at Christmas.
- Dear Boys mentors and supports young boys.
- Girls Emerging mentors and empowers young girls and women.
- Rural Hydrate works with partners to bring clean water to rural communities.
- A Thousand Man March Against Indecency is a cultural awakening that restores values, empathy and integrity.
The organisation also hosts the Torchlight Webinar, a bimonthly speaker series, and Giving Tuesday, a weekly outreach initiative.
The road to 10,000 lives
The CHEERS GLOBAL @ 10 campaign will spread its impact across these initiatives over six months. Its aim is to turn the anniversary into measurable change in the lives of children, teenagers, women and communities. (Campaign plans may be adjusted as partnerships and opportunities develop.)
“Ten years is not just a number for us; it is thousands of stories of lives touched by ordinary people who chose to care,” said Mrs Olajumoke Adetilewa-David, Cheers Global.
“This anniversary, we’re calling on cheerleaders in the form of partnerships and volunteering, so that together, we can go far faster!”
Cheerleaders: how the movement grows
The campaign centres on Cheerleaders, the volunteers and members who power Cheers Global.
A Cheerleader can serve in four ways: donate, sponsor, volunteer, or carry the impact where they are. Individuals and organisations can all take part.
Cheerleaders can now run or replicate a Cheers Global initiative in their own community under the Cheers Global umbrella, without setting up a separate NGO.
Cheers Global’s initiatives currently run in Ogun State, where its Cheer Centre is based in Mowe, but it plans to go further. The principle behind the model is simple: go together to go far.
Vision 2035
The anniversary also points to a longer-term goal. By 2035, Cheers Global aims to touch 100 million hearts worldwide, with Cheerleaders present in every community. It also plans to open 20 CheerUp Centres globally, physical outreach hubs led by Cheerleaders.
How to get involved
Individuals, businesses and organisations can join the movement, donate, sponsor or partner on any initiative.
